CNC Micromachining
for Miniature components
Where standard CNC stops, micro CNC begins — producing tiny components for medical, fiber optics and satellite applications.
Understanding Micromachining
Where standard CNC
runs out of digits.
Micro CNC processing is a CNC processing process that creates tiny components using advanced cutting tools. It manufactures miniature components ranging from 1 micrometer (1 µm) to 1 millimeter (1 mm), supporting miniature component manufacturing. in size.
Standard CNC machining cannot create micron-level controlled dimensional specifications. For such miniature components, special material-removal techniques take over — micro EDM (electrical discharge machining), micro milling, and micro CNC machining — each tuned to a scale where a human hair is a bulky reference object.
A component is classified as micromachined when it requires specialized micro-CNC processing tools to create features like slots, holes, cavities and channels in the 1 µm to 1 mm range, with dimensional stability held at sub-millimeter to a few centimeters overall.

True Micromachining Tolerances
Zoom starting using millimeter to micron.
Click each scale to see what lives there. Every step is a 10× jump — the same component that fits on your fingertip at 1 mm becomes invisible to the naked eye by 1 µm.
1mm
At the upper bound of micro CNC processing, components measure from sub-millimeter up to a few centimeters. Standard CNC can no longer hold the required tolerance here.
100µm
One hundred micrometers — about the width of a human hair. Micro milling cutters as small as 10 µm carve complex geometries under CNC control.
10µm
The diameter of the smallest end mills and drilling tools. Spindles reach 100,000 RPM to keep chip load sane at this diameter.
5µm
Feature size achievable with micro EDM wire. Electrical sparks erode material without physical contact — no mechanical stress.
1µm
Our tolerance floor. Both micro milling and micro EDM can be held to ±1 µm through specialized tooling and CMM inspection.
